The Indian Aerospace and Defence Industry have heralded the beginning of the new decade on a high note. The LCA – Navy, designed and developed indigenously by ADA, has successfully completed its maiden landing and take-off from aboard the Indian aircraft carrier – INS Vikramaditya. This is no mean feat for the developmental agencies, as India becomes only the sixth country to achieve the milestone at the high seas. This mission has paved the way towards successfully demonstrating the carrier-borne fighter technology.Even as the industry basks in yet another success for the LCA program, much of the industry is preparing its bandwagon for travel to the city of Nawabs – Lucknow, the capital of India’s largest state – Uttar Pradesh. In Lucknow, with a touch of royalty, the industry will attempt at making brisk business on the sidelines of the 11th edition of DefExpo in Lucknow.DefExpo has firmly established itself as a promising marketing platform for the global vendors to sell their products to the India’s armed forces. With a purse of over $100 Billion, ready to be spent over the next five years, India undoubtedly remains to be a much sought after market to global defence and aerospace firms.
