Indian Army gunned down two terrorists holed up in a forest area near a village in Akhnoor, taking the number of Pakistani Terrorists killed to three. The terrorists were ratted out of their holes using UAVs and armoured vehicles like BMP II Sarath.
The operation to eliminate 3 terrorists in Akhnoor has been carried out with clinical precision and with ideal implementation of training.
The aim was never to lose contact with the terrorists. Armoured vehicles were used to avoid unnecessary casualties. AI and tracking devices were used to home on to the exact location of the terrorists. UAV were used to track and hunt.
Pakistan is planning to infiltrate 50 terrorists present on various launching pads across the border to sneak into Jammu region. The terrorists were found to be having M4 Carbine with them, this weapon is used by the Pakistani Military themselves. M4 is otherwise a NATO weapon and is smaller in size than the AK 47. M4 can be easily hidden as it is compact and can be used in various roles including long range firing if provided with a sight. American Army used M4 Carbine extensively in Afghanistan.
Terrorists have also used armoured piercing bullets in the past. It’s not clear as yet what kind of bullets these terrorists were using and how much ammunition they had. M4 Carbine requires some training to operate and it goes without saying that Pakistani Special Operations group must have provided this training to these terrorists.
Indian Army Assault K9, Phantom, made supreme sacrifice in the incident after succumbing to a bullet injury. The BMP-II infantry combat vehicles were used for bringing down accurate fire. Along with the UAVs, helicopters were also used to locate the terrorists.
