Lieutenant General Raj Shukla (Retd.) served the Indian Army with distinction for over four decades. A decorated officer, he commanded an Infantry Brigade in counter-insurgency operations, the Baramulla Division along the LoC, and a Pivot Corps on the Western Borders. An alumnus of premier institutions like DSSC Wellington, CDM Secunderabad, and NDC New Delhi, he held pivotal roles, including Director General Perspective Planning and Commandant of the Army War College. A professional aviator, strategic thinker, and prolific author, he was awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 2021. He now serves as a Member of the UPSC since July 2022.
