The Indian Air Force (IAF) has recently appointed Air Marshal S Sivakumar VSM as the Air Officer-in-Charge Administration (AOA) at Air Headquarters, New Delhi, effective 01 July 2025. Air Marshal S Sivakumar, a distinguished officer with over 35 years of service in the Indian Air Force, was commissioned into the Administration Branch in June 1990. An alumnus of Pondicherry University, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management. These courses, offered by institutions renowned for their academic excellence in the fields of defense and management education, have served the IAF under Air Marshal S. Sivakumar.

Air Marshal S Sivakumar has led an illustrious military career, throughout which he has held several pivotal command and staff appointments across various operational theaters and administrative establishments of the Indian Air Force. These appointments include:

  • Senior Air Traffic Control Officer at a forward air base, where he oversaw critical air operations in strategically sensitive sectors.
  • Representative of the IAF in the United Nations Mission in Congo (MONUC), where he contributed to the peacekeeping mission while representing India, underscoring its global peacekeeping commitments.
  • As an Air Force Examiner, he was entrusted with evaluating operational readiness and compliance across air stations.
  • He also held the post of a Chief Administrative Officer at a premier flying station, managing multi-functional support for air operations.
  • He was also the Command Works Officer and Command Personnel Staff Officer at two major operational commands, and thus coordinated infrastructure development and personnel management.
  • Air Officer Commanding of a key Equipment Depot, ensuring logistics readiness and resource distribution for frontline operations.
  • He also held the post of Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Air Force Works) at Air Headquarters, as he led the planning and execution of infrastructure development across IAF installations.
  • Furthermore, he was also a Senior Officer-in-Charge (Administration) of a major Operational Command, responsible for overseeing administrative frameworks and human resource functions on a strategic scale.

Most recently, he served as the Director General (Administration) at Air Headquarters, where he was instrumental in formulating policies related to administration, infrastructure, and personnel welfare for the IAF.
