Principal Secretary to the PM, Dr P K Mishra Visits Key Indigenous Projects at HAL

Dr. P. K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, visited HAL facilities in Bengaluru today and reviewed key indigenous projects. Dr D.K. Sunil, CMD, HAL led the visit along with other HAL Board members. 

Dr. Mishra commenced his visit with a tour of the LCA Mk 2 hangar at the Aircraft Research & Design Centre (ARDC), followed by a visit to the LCA Tejas Assembly Hangar and Aerospace Division. At the LCA Tejas Division, he reviewed the progress of the LCA Tejas Mk 1A program and was briefed on the current production progress. HAL showcased six LCA Mk 1A fighters and two LCA Mk 1 trainers during the visit. 

HAL reaffirmed its commitment and preparedness to lead multi-stakeholder programs in the future to the visiting dignitary. The dignitary was shown a range of indigenous platforms including the Prachand (Light Combat Helicopter), Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Dhruv (Advanced Light Helicopter) and Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT 40). 

At the Aerospace Division of HAL, Dr. Mishra was received by Dr. V Narayanan, Chairman, ISRO. Dr. Mishra visited the GSLV Mk III and PSLV assembly shops, the welding facility and viewed structures and components developed by HAL for the Gaganyaan mission.  He also visited the Integrated Cryogenic Engine Manufacturing Facility. A presentation was made to the dignitary highlighting HAL’s activities and progress including its recent selection for the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) Transfer of Technology (ToT).  

During the visit, Dr. Mishra commended HAL’s contributions in strengthening India’s indigenous capabilities in the defence and aerospace sector.
