HAL kicked off its 86th Foundation Day celebrations with a Fit India Walkathon in Bengaluru today, showcasing its commitment to health, unity and excellence. Dr D K Sunil, CMD, HAL, formally flagged off the walkathon in the presence of Mr Barenya Senapathi, Director (Finance), Mr Ravi K, Director (Operations) and Mr M G Balasubrahmanya, Director (HR). The event saw participation of around 1000 employees from Bengaluru-based divisions. The walkathon was graced by special guests Ms Shreyanka Patil, Indian Cricket Player, National Women’s Cricket team, and Mr Aritra Roy, Everest Summiteer.
On the occasion, Dr D K Sunil also flagged off a mountaineering expedition by Mr Aritra Roy, an accomplished mountaineer and Everest Summiteer, to South America. Mr Aritra will climb Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America as part of his Seven-Summit Challenge.

HAL Day is celebrated annually on December 23. This year, a special event will be organised at the New HAL Management Academy Campus along with celebrations across all HAL divisions and offices.
