Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah issued a stern warning to Israel, stating that the Lebanese front will continue to be active until the conflict in Gaza ceases. Addressing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Nasrallah emphasized: “The Lebanese front will not stop until the aggression on Gaza ceases.”
In a recent speech, Nasrallah underscored Hezbollah’s long-standing position. “We’ve been repeating this for 11 months; this statement follows two significant blows we’ve received. Regardless of the sacrifices, consequences, or future implications, the resistance in Lebanon will continue to support Gaza,” he declared.
Unprecedented Attacks on Hezbollah
Nasrallah labeled the attacks on Hezbollah as “unprecedented” but reaffirmed that they will not weaken the group. “There’s no doubt we’ve faced a major blow, both in security and humanity, one without precedent in the history of the resistance or Lebanon. This might be unparalleled in the entire region’s conflict with Israel,” Nasrallah commented.
The Hezbollah leader acknowledged the challenges of war, stating, “It is the nature of war—one day the enemy hits us, and the next, we hit the enemy.” This statement hints at possible retaliatory actions by Hezbollah.
IDF Strikes in Lebanon
In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. The strikes, intended to degrade Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure, come amid ongoing skirmishes between the two entities since October last year.
The IDF stated on X (formerly Twitter), “Hezbollah has weaponized civilian homes, dug tunnels beneath them, and used civilians as human shields—turning southern Lebanon into a war zone.”
The military aims to bring stability to northern Israel and ensure the safety of its residents. “The IDF is operating to bring security to northern Israel and achieve our war goals,” the post read.
“New Era” in Israel’s War Effort
These actions follow Israel’s Defense Minister’s declaration of a “new era” in its military campaign, signaling an intensified focus on its northern front. The IDF’s top commander has already approved plans for the “northern arena.”
Hezbollah’s Response to Massacres
Nasrallah condemned Israel’s attacks on Hezbollah, referring to them as “massacres”. He claimed that Israel’s recent strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday, targeting Hezbollah’s wireless devices, were attempts to kill at least 5,000 people in mere minutes.
The attacks, Nasrallah stated, crossed a “red line,” endangering civilians and Hezbollah members alike. “Even if they aimed at Hezbollah fighters, they targeted everyone around them,” he said.
Escalation of Tensions
The ongoing confrontation between Hezbollah and Israel highlights the escalating tensions in the region. As Nasrallah reiterates his commitment to Gaza, and Israel continues its strikes, the situation on both the northern and southern fronts remains volatile.
