India Hosts First Multinational Air Exercise Tarang Shakti 2024 in Two Phases

India is set to host its first multinational air exercise, Tarang Shakti 2024, in two distinct phases. This landmark event underscores India’s expanding role in regional and global security, bringing together air forces from various countries for a collaborative display of aerial prowess.

India’s defense landscape is poised for a significant milestone with the inaugural multinational air exercise, Tarang Shakti 2024. Scheduled to unfold in two phases, this exercise will witness the participation of air forces from multiple nations, showcasing a unified front in addressing global security challenges.

Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal A P Singh announced at a press conference in New Delhi that the first phase will be held from August 6th to 14th in Sular, Tamil Nadu, and the second phase from August 29th to September 14th in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The ten countries bringing their aircraft include Australia, Bangladesh, France, Germany, Greece, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the USA, and Singapore. Eighteen other countries will attend as observers.

The Vice Chief also mentioned that India will display its indigenous fighter aircraft and equipment, including the Tejas, Rafale, Mirage 2000, Jaguar, and MIG 29.

The first phase of Tarang Shakti 2024 will focus on strategic planning and coordination, with participating countries engaging in comprehensive discussions and simulations. This phase aims to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among the air forces, laying the groundwork for the subsequent operational phase.

The second phase will involve live exercises, where the air forces will demonstrate their tactical and operational capabilities. This phase is designed to test the interoperability and readiness of the participating nations, highlighting the collective strength and strategic alignment.
